Diagnoses
A senior couple is being cared for in a large city. The 91-year-old gentleman (180 cm, 60 kg) is physically limited, experiences pain while walking, moves around the house with a walker (Rollator), and has an increased risk of falling; his temporal, spatial, and personal orientation is intact. He requires support when standing and walking, and partial assistance with dressing, undressing, toileting, personal hygiene, exercises, and walks; he manages eating independently. He is capable of engaging in complex conversations. The 87-year-old lady (160 cm, 50 kg) moves independently and is relatively physically mobile, but suffers from dementia/Alzheimer's and forgetfulness — her orientation in time, space, and in relation to people is only occasionally intact; she also has an increased risk of falling. She manages eating, walking, and toileting independently, needs partial assistance with dressing, hygiene, and exercises, and requires accompaniment on walks. She is capable of more complex conversations. For both individuals, organizing daily life, providing companionship, maintaining a daily routine, engaging in conversations, activation and occupation, accompanying them on walks and in the garden, and support with orientation are necessary. The caregiver is also responsible for shopping, meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry. Night service and lifting are not required. Accommodation is a family house of 190 m²; the caregiver has access to a guest room with internet. Free time is arranged directly with the clients. There are no pets in the household. Basic knowledge of German is required, and a Romanian-speaking caregiver is explicitly requested, smoking is allowed only outside the house, and a driver's license is not required.

You don't pay our employment agency anything at all. We believe it is not right to charge people money in order to enable them to work, and so we offer assistance in finding job positions completely free of charge.
Most job positions in Germany are based on Slovak/Czech trade licenses, though employment contracts are possible with some families. In Switzerland, work is conducted under Swiss employment contracts.
A caregiving course is not required for families in Germany, but you need at least some experience of caring at home. In Switzerland, most families require a caregiving course.
Finding a family is an individual matter for every candidate, so there is no exact time frame for when we will find you a family that suits you both. In some cases we can arrange a job within a few hours, at other times the wait is a few days. For families in Switzerland, the wait can stretch to a month because of high demand. We place candidates fastest in the summer months, June – August, and more slowly from the end of January to the end of March.
If you wish, we will organise your transport. We have worked for many years with transport companies that our caregivers are happy to use again and again. You can of course choose another way of travelling that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey herself and the family contributes to it – €180 – 300 in Germany, CHF 380 – 400 in Switzerland, depending on the offer. If you do not have the cash to travel to Germany, we can pay the fare for you and deduct it from your pay afterwards.
In Germany a standard assignment lasts 4 – 6 weeks, in Switzerland 2 – 3 months. Replacement assignments are shorter.
In Germany the pay is up to €3 500 a month as a self-employed caregiver – the exact amount is stated in each offer. It depends on your German, the client’s state of health and whether you care for one person or a married couple. In Switzerland the pay is up to CHF 3 500 net a month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, families most often require intermediate to good German; some are happy with basic German and/or want another language, such as Czech, Russian or Bulgarian. Families in Switzerland require good German, although a solid intermediate level is sometimes enough.
